Talking Writing : Debut Authors

Talking Writing is the regular themed event, held at Writing NSW where we discuss the infinite possibilities of writing.

Join me at Writing NSW on 20 November, along with Judi Morison (Secrets), and Kate Horan (The Inheritance). We will chat about our pathways to publication, the development of our debut novels, and the reality of being an author. From sparkling book launches to the sometimes gruelling editing process, hear from us first-time authors about our experiences, advice, and writing journeys.

Drinks and nibbles will be available from 6pm, as well as a chance to meet other writers before the panel. The panel will take place from 6:30 sharp

I can't wait to see you there.

Christmas with the Book Deal Podcast

Join us for a live recording of The Book Deal podcast with literary Agony Aunt Hayley Scrivenor and then browse the Christmas Book Market.

Join Madeleine Cleary, Tina Strachan and me, in a live recording of The Book Deal held on location at Writing NSW. For aspiring, emerging and established writers, this special Christmas episode will feature Australian bestselling author and the podcast’s Agony Aunt-in-residence, Hayley Scrivenor. Live on stage, Hayley will address your most pressing and confidential writing and publishing dilemmas – from rejections, to craft, to creative roadblocks and more. Tina, Madeleine and I will also reflect on the things we've learned on our journey while publishing our first books in 2025.

I live, work and write on Wangal Country, part of the Eora Nation. I pay my respects to Elders, past and present. I acknowledge and honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders as the land's first storytellers. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
